I think people are being overdramatic about it, honestly. If Nintendo truly didn’t care about their older fans, they wouldn’t have put in older characters in Fire Emblem Heroes. Or remake Gaiden. They obviously want to do things with the older games so people saying they don’t care at all and just pander to newer fans are just not thinking. Most of these fans who complain on the FE Warriors videos in particular come off as just wanting to hate newer games because they insult and mock the newer games - and people who enjoy them- to such a point that it’s impossible to offer courtesy in return. I’m sure not all people who are disappointed in the roster act like that, of course not, but a large portion have handled the situation so absolutely poorly that it’s hard to take any criticism seriously anymore when regarding Warriors. It’s also causing fans who actually like the game to put the game on a higher pedestal then it honestly deserves. It’s just a Warriors game, it’s not going to be the game of the century. I understand disappointment, I am a little disappointed too, but I wouldn’t hate the game itself or people who want to play it.
It’s also a crossover game, technically. I’ve made the point before when speaking about Warriors a while ago, but that plays a huge part. Tokyo Mirage Sessions was received pretty badly and that was the last Fire Emblem crossover. The developers probably want to ensure it sells well by using characters that are popular and most importantly, have fans who they know want to buy things relating to these characters. They hadn’t tested the waters enough when the game was starting development to know if older fans would buy things relating to the older characters. By now they probably have a good idea, but back then they were still testing it. They aren’t even a part of Nintendo, so they probably didn’t even know SoV or Heroes was in development either, or that they would be popular.
Overall, it’s just a simple, fun concept of a crossover game that really shouldn’t be taken so seriously that got blown way out of proportion. I’m going to buy the game if I can, and unless the controls and gameplay suck, I’m probably going to enjoy it because it just sounds fun.

Anyways, these kiddos are Tiber and Nona, Mae and Boey’s first 2 kids!
Tiber takes mostly after his mom (aka HYPER) and Nona managed to find a nice and chill state of mind in their horribly LOUD household (someone has to be the adult around here).
